A Quick Pizza Peel Up-Do
Ok, now before I go to bed, I thought I would share a quick and easy little up-do on a pizza peel I found not too long ago. This is so stinking easy I think my eight year old could do.....
Well, no - let me take that back as I remember while I was doing this she did manage to burn herself a little "assisting" me.
And I heard about it for days.
Anyway.... back to the tutorial on this thing.
Well, no - let me take that back as I remember while I was doing this she did manage to burn herself a little "assisting" me.
And I heard about it for days.
Anyway.... back to the tutorial on this thing.
First, find yourself a little (or large), wooden pizza peel.
Get hold of a recipe for pizza dough....
Print it....
Then trace it onto your pizza peel with graphite paper.
Then get a wood burning tool and trace over those lines you just put on.
Don't forget to add those "burn spots" on the bottom of the peel so it looks like you actually use it!
Only you will know if you don't.
It will look like this when you're done:
Hopefully minus the little boo-boo I did while wood burning the first "Y".
Then again, this is the first time I've ever done wood burning!
Next, get some of your fav stain and thin it out a bit with some mineral spirits.
Brush the stain on and then wipe off, working in small areas as you go.
Then go back over the bottom area to darken a little more so it really looks like you used it.
It should look like this now:
Finish it off with a flat varnish because I have never seen shiny pizza peel in any pizza parlor in my life!
Do not be making a shiny pizza peel and hanging it anywhere in public!
Now I will go to bed. I have several pieces of furniture sitting next to be that totally demand my attention in the morning.
Plus my Yorkie, Tazo, is staring me down and wanting me to put him to bed now.
He's worse than the kids sometimes.
Bon nuit!
I love this idea and it turned out so cute. Thank you for entering it at Transformed Tuesday.
